Hike the Pitons

The iconic Pitons rise majestically 771m from sea level and are a designated a world heritage site. Climbing the pitons can be a great challenge, so take a hike with a recognized and knowledgeable local guide.

A great way to see the island’s green landscape and its rain forest. Alternatively, you can take the helicopter transfer which not only flies you over the rainforest, it also reduces your transfer time to/from the international airport to the villa.

For golf enthusiasts the only 18 hole course in St Lucia is 3 minute drive away. This was acquired by Sandals in 2017 but available to the public.

It offers super views and has been re-designed by Greg Norman. We can book tee times for you.

Cariblue Beach St Lucia

Located below Akasha is Cariblue beach. You can walk down a small path or drive, and park at The Body Holiday car park. The Body Holiday is consistently rated as one of the top all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. They offer a day pass, with fantastic value including drinks, food and use of some water sport facilities.

Pigeon Island in St lucia
Pigeon Island

This is a 40 acre national park and has a long historical significance for St Lucia. Originally an island but a causeway was built to it in the 1970s. Here the English and French fought many battles. You can still see some of the old fort ruins.

You will also find a small beach ideal for children. In the park there is a great restaurant, Jambe De Bois, suitable for all ages. It is open for lunch and dinner.

Just by the entrance of the park you will find numerous local restaurants and bars.

JQ Mall

Everyday shopping is within an easy 8 minute drive from Akasha. Most items can be purchased at the JQ mall in Rodney Bay – there you will find groceries, duty free shops, medical center, pharmacy, gift shops etc.

Baywalk Mall

The new larger mall – Baywalk in Rodney Bay is a modern and lively place to shop not only for duty free but also everyday shopping and has even more exciting restaurants.

Duty Free Shopping

Duty free shopping is available in the mall and Rodney Bay marina but if you want more Duty Free shops then head for Castries. There you will find Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage, both have world class brands and are geared for the serious shoppers.

Galleries

If you want to see and purchase some original art then visit the gallery in the marina where Llewellyn Xavier, St. Lucia’s premier artist displays and sells his work, he lives just around the corner from Akasha. There is also a gallery on the way into Castries where you will find art work from local painters – please ask us for directions.
